Terms & Conditions – Sidmar Electrical Limited Business to Business

Company Name: Sidmar Electrical Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”)
Client: Commercial customer, contractor, landlord, or organisation (“you”, “your”)


1. Scope & Application
These Terms & Conditions apply to all electrical services, maintenance, installation, and related works carried out by Sidmar Electrical Limited for business clients. By accepting a quotation, issuing a purchase order, or allowing work to commence, you agree to these terms.


2. Quotations, Pricing & Variations
  • Quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
  • Prices are based on the information provided at the time of quoting.
  • Variations, additional works, or delays caused by site conditions, third parties, or incomplete information may result in revised charges.
  • Any changes will be communicated and agreed before additional costs are incurred.
  • Daywork or reactive call‑outs are charged at the prevailing hourly or daily rate.


3. Purchase Orders & Instructions
  • Work may require a written purchase order or formal instruction before commencement.
  • Verbal instructions on site may be accepted but will be confirmed in writing and chargeable.


4. Access, Site Conditions & Responsibilities
  • You must provide safe, uninterrupted access to all areas where work is required.
  • Any delays caused by restricted access, other trades, or unsafe conditions may incur additional charges.
  • You are responsible for ensuring the site complies with relevant health and safety requirements.
  • We reserve the right to suspend work if conditions are unsafe or non‑compliant.


5. Standards, Certification & Compliance
  • All work is carried out by competent electricians in accordance with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and relevant UK Building Regulations.
  • Where applicable, we will issue the appropriate certification (EIC, Part P notification, or commercial compliance documentation).
  • Testing and inspection reports reflect the condition of the installation at the time of testing only.


6. Materials, Equipment & Ownership
  • Materials supplied by us remain our property until paid for in full.
  • Special‑order items may require upfront payment.
  • If you supply materials, we accept no liability for delays, defects, or compatibility issues.


7. Payment Terms
  • Standard payment terms are 30 days from the invoice date, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Late payments may incur statutory interest and reasonable recovery costs.
  • Interim or staged payments may be required for larger projects.
  • Retentions are not accepted unless agreed prior to quotation.


8. Cancellations, Delays & Rescheduling
  • Cancellations or postponements within 48 hours of the scheduled start may incur charges.
  • We are not liable for delays caused by third parties, supply chain issues, or circumstances beyond our control.
  • If delays occur due to your actions or other contractors, additional costs may apply.


9. Guarantees & Warranty
  • Materials are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
  • Guarantees exclude:
    • Misuse, damage, or interference by others
    • Alterations made after our work
    • Pre‑existing faults or defects in the installation
    • Equipment not supplied by us


10. Existing Installations & Limitations
  • We are not responsible for defects in existing wiring or equipment.
  • If unsafe or non‑compliant conditions are identified, we will notify you. Work may need to pause until the issue is rectified.
  • Remedial work required to bring installations up to standard will be chargeable unless explicitly included in the quotation.


11. Liability & Insurance
  • We hold appropriate public liability and employer’s liability insurance.
  • We are not liable for:
    • Indirect, consequential, or financial losses
    • Loss of business, revenue, or operational downtime
    • Damage caused by hidden services (pipes, cables, structural defects) not reasonably identifiable
  • Our total liability is limited to the value of the contract unless otherwise agreed.


12. Waste, Disposal & Environmental Responsibilities
  • Standard waste removal is included unless otherwise stated.
  • Specialist disposal (e.g., hazardous waste, large fittings, batteries) may incur additional charges.
  • We aim to recycle materials where possible.


13. Confidentiality & Data
  • Both parties agree to maintain confidentiality regarding commercially sensitive information.
  • Any data shared will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws.


14. Complaints & Dispute Resolution
  • Any concerns should be raised promptly so we can resolve them efficiently.
  • If a dispute arises, both parties agree to attempt resolution through discussion before pursuing formal action.


15. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

These Terms & Conditions apply to all electrical services provided by Sidmar Electrical Limited. By accepting a quotation, placing an order, or allowing work to begin, you agree to these terms.


2. Quotations & Pricing
  • All quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
  • Quotations are based on the information available at the time. Any changes, additional work, or unforeseen issues may result in revised costs.
  • Prices include labour and materials unless specified.
  • Any variations will be discussed with you before additional charges are incurred.


3. Booking, Access & Site Conditions
  • Appointment dates are agreed in advance and may be subject to change due to availability or unforeseen circumstances.
  • You must ensure safe, unobstructed access to all areas where work is required, including consumer units, lofts, and external areas.
  • We reserve the right to pause work if conditions are unsafe or unsuitable.


4. Standards, Certification & Compliance
  • All work is carried out by competent electricians in accordance with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and relevant UK Building Regulations.
  • Where applicable, we will issue the appropriate certification (e.g., Electrical Installation Certificate, Minor Works Certificate) and notify Building Control under Part P.


5. Materials & Parts
  • Materials supplied by us remain our property until paid for in full.
  • If you supply your own materials, we accept no responsibility for defects, delays, or compatibility issues.


6. Payment Terms
  • Payment is due upon completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Deposits may be required for large projects or special‑order items.
  • Late payments may incur interest at a reasonable statutory rate.


7. Cancellations & Rescheduling
  • You may cancel or reschedule with at least 48 hours’ notice.
  • Cancellations within 48 hours may incur a call‑out or cancellation fee.
  • If we need to reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances, we will notify you promptly.


8. Guarantees & Warranty
  • Materials are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
  • Guarantees do not cover:
    • Misuse, neglect, or damage caused by others
    • Alterations made after our work
    • Issues arising from pre‑existing faults or wiring not installed by us


9. Existing Installations
  • We are not responsible for defects in existing wiring or equipment.
  • If we identify unsafe or non‑compliant installations, we will inform you. Work may need to stop until the issue is resolved.


10. Liability
  • We hold appropriate public liability insurance.
  • We are not liable for:
    • Indirect or consequential losses
    • Delays caused by factors outside our control
    • Damage caused by hidden pipes, cables, or structural issues not reasonably identifiable


11. Customer Responsibilities
You agree to:
  • Provide accurate information about the work required
  • Ensure the work area is clear and safe
  • Keep children, pets, and vulnerable individuals away from hazardous areas
  • Notify us of any relevant health and safety concerns


12. Waste & Disposal
  • Standard waste removal is included unless stated otherwise.
  • Disposal of old consumer units, large fittings, or specialist waste may incur additional charges.


13. Complaints
If you have concerns about our service, please contact us directly so we can resolve the issue quickly and fairly.


14. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
